About Dividend Guardian
Who runs it, how every article is researched and checked, and what it will never tell you to do.
Who's behind it
Dividend Guardian is an Australian service built and run by Ryan Wimalasena. It tracks what dividend shares actually pay: every payment per share, the months the money lands in, and the day a company confirms a change. The blog is published under Ryan's name, and questions sent to hello@dividendguardian.com are answered by a person.
What the blog covers
How Australian dividends actually work, with the numbers shown: franking and its refunds, the dates behind every payment, payout ratios, reinvestment plans, and what the market's biggest companies have really paid. It is written for people who own dividend shares, or are about to, and want the mechanics rather than a list of tips. Every article is on the blog.
How every article is researched and checked
Primary sources first. Figures come from whoever published them in the first place: company announcements and dividend histories, the ATO, the RBA, APRA and Treasury. Each article names its sources, and the numbers it quotes can be traced back to them.
Numbers are calculated, then tested. Every figure in an article's charts and tables is computed in code from its source data and checked by automated tests before the article is published, so the text, the chart and the table cannot disagree with each other.
Illustrations are labelled. When an article uses an example portfolio or a round-number company to show how something works, it says so, and it never presents one as a real company.
Dates are shown. Each article carries the date it was published and, when it has been substantively revised, the date of that update.
Corrections are made openly. If you find an error, email hello@dividendguardian.com. The article is corrected and its update date moves.
What we won't do
No buy, sell or hold recommendations. No price targets. No share tips. Articles describe how things work and what companies have done; whether any of it suits you depends on your circumstances, which is a conversation for a licensed financial adviser or a registered tax agent. Everything on this site is general information, not personal financial advice, and Guardian reports confirmed changes rather than predicting them.
See what your holdings pay
Start free, with no account and no broker login. Paste your holdings and see what they pay over a year, which months it lands in, and which of your bills it already covers.
For A$6 a month or A$60 a year, Guardian keeps watching: every payment recorded per share, your income by company and by sector, and a note when a company confirms a change to what it pays. There's a 30 day money-back guarantee.
